ingress.tools ("we", "us") runs this website, a fan-made set of tools for players of Ingress. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions go to support@ingress.tools.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, a hashed password (we never see the password itself), your agent name and faction, and the invite you signed up with.
- Data you send from the IITC plugin: your inventory, keys, capsule contents and bookmarks, and the portals you upload (name, location, image link and address). Portals and recharge reports are tagged with your agent name.
- Things you post: passcodes you submit, your "worked / didn't work" reports, field plans and team memberships.
- Sign-in sessions: while you are signed in we store your IP address and browser type with your session, to keep you signed in and to spot abuse.
- Server logs: like most websites, our server and Cloudflare record requests (IP address, page, time and browser) for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
- To run the tools: show your inventory, share it through your private link, list passcodes and portals, and keep your plans.
- To keep the site safe: rate limits, bot checks and stopping spam passcodes.
- To understand how the site is used and to pay for it with advertising (see below).
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and services we use
- Our own cookies keep you signed in and protect forms. They are needed for the site to work.
- Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits and see which pages are used. Google's How Google uses information from sites that use its services explains more, and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on turns it off.
- Google AdSense shows ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website and other websites. Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners serve ads to you based on those visits. You can turn off personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of many third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first.
- Cloudflare delivers the site, protects it from attacks and runs the Turnstile check on the sign-in and sign-up forms.
- New-passcode notifications, if you turn them on, are sent by us through your browser's own push service (for example Google for Chrome, Mozilla for Firefox, Apple for Safari). We store the push address your browser gives us, linked to your account if you are signed in. Turn them off with the button on the passcodes page or in your browser's site settings.
- OpenStreetMap provides the map tiles, so your browser requests them from OpenStreetMap's servers.
- Amazon Web Services hosts the IITC plugin downloads.
- Telegram receives recharge reports for recharge rooms you take part in.
Who can see your data
- Your inventory and keys are only visible to you and to anyone you give your private share link to. You can reset the link on your profile at any time.
- Public plans, submitted passcodes and uploaded portals are visible to everyone. Team plans are visible to that team.
- Site admins can see account details to run the site.
- We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account exists. You can archive your account on your profile page: you are signed out, and sign-in, the plugin and your share link stop working, but your data is kept so the account can be restored. To have your account and data deleted, or to get a copy of it, email support@ingress.tools from the address on your account. Passcodes and portals you shared may stay on the site without your name.
Children
ingress.tools is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Ingress itself has its own minimum age.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Big changes will be announced on the site.
